I’ve been calling around to get info about cell phone plans and Internet-and there are only 2 cell phone providers and 1 internet provider! I found a great cell phone deal, then when I was asking about Internet, they told me they could not sell me Internet because THERE WASN’T ENOUGH?!?! Apparently the demand for Internet in Mistissini was so high, that are not enough towers or poles or whatever brings in the Intenet to meet the demand and therefore High Speed Internet became Low Speed Internet because of this unbalanced supply & demand situtation. BUT NO WORRIES!!! I found a solution! It is called TURBO Station, and it is Internet in a box! So once I get to Mistissini, I need to go get this Turbo Station and plug it in and voila- Internet!

I have accepted a teaching position with the Cree School Board for the 2014-2015 school year! I will be living in Mistissini as of early August, with my dog Knox!

Many family members and friends are eager to hear about my life in Mistissini, so my sister gave me the awesome idea of starting this blog so that everyone can follow me, hear my stories, and see my pictures from my new home.
Right now, I am slowly getting ready- paperwork, packing, etc- and as soon as I hit the road I will begin posting updates and pictures!
